Repatriation Portal Terms of Use
Welcome to the Field Museum’s Repatriation Portal (“Portal”), which is meant to facilitate the sharing of confidential information between the Museum and tribes, nations, and indigenous communities during the consultation and repatriation process. The Portal is provided only to Authorized Users under the following terms of use; if you are not an Authorized User or do not accept the following terms, you may not access this Portal. The Field Museum’s Website Terms of Use also apply to this Portal. Continued use of the Portal constitutes agreement to these terms.
Confidential Information
The Portal contains confidential, secret, sacred, and otherwise sensitive information. The Field Museum takes the confidentiality of this information very seriously and will use its best efforts to ensure that the Portal remains secure, that access is granted only to appropriate individuals, and the Authorized Users have access only to information pertaining to their consultation or repatriation request.
If you believe you have access to information in error, please notify the Museum immediately by contacting repatriation@fieldmuseum.org.
Authorized Users
The Portal may only be accessed and used by Authorized Users for the purposes of consultation and repatriation. Authorized Users are official tribal or First Nation representatives that have been given a user name and password by the Field Museum. Authorized Users may not share login credentials with other people.
If you are a tribal or First Nation representative who would like to request access to the Portal or an Authorized User whose login credentials are not working, please contact repatriation@fieldmuseum.org.
Use of Information
All information transmitted through the Portal should be treated as confidential. Authorized Users may access, download, and use this information only for the purposes of consultation with the Field Museum without further agreement. Authorized Users may share the information with other community members and experts, researchers, or other agents, as they believe necessary to facilitate the consultation process.
